Saturday 20th October
Welcome presentation, learning materials and e-mail/phone support (if needed) throughout and after the sessions. Guided T.R.E audio recording and closed Facebook group membership available following completion.
On this workshop you will be guided and facilitated through two T.R.E sessions with a drinks/snack break and T.R.E talk in between and you will:
- Learn first-hand how T.R.E reignites the body’s innate stress/tension release mechanism and experience your body/mind decompressing and growing in resilience.
- Understand the science behind T.R.E and how T.R.E works
- Learn how to confidently manage your home practice.
What is T.R.E?
It is a natural “no-talking” physical practice that safely and gently releases symptoms of tension, stress, anxiety and trauma from the body. Like a massage from the inside out, the process returns the body to a more calm, relaxed and balanced state. T.R.E is the body’s innate physiological release mechanism and the movements are “autonomic” (not controlled by the conscious mind); it taps into the deepest and oldest parts of the brain, that control our stress reactions, the brain stem (reptilian brain).
It releases muscular tension starting from the core of the body and then extending throughout the body. It effectively allows the nervous system to "stand down" and release any held fight/flight energy, coming back to a state of relaxed aliveness/rest and digest. T.R.E is the way animals shake off their tension and is the fast track to letting go and restoring balance.
Who is T.R.E for?
T.R.E is a practice for EVERYONE to learn because it is our body’s innate and most basic stress and tension releasing mechanism; it frees body and mind and increases resilience. It can help yoga practitioners and athletes improve performance as deeply held muscular tension is released and flexibility improves. It has a profound effect on pain, with some clients releasing chronic pain that has been held for many years. It can also support those recovering from nervous system issues such as IBS, anxiety, panic attacks, trauma and PTSD.
You are taught to re-ignite this innate ability via simple “trigger exercises” after which you lie on a yoga mat and allow the body to release in a mindful, controlled and sustained way. You will peel away the layers of tension held deep in the core muscles of the body. You will learn to confidently integrate the T.R.E Natural Stress release into your life to become part of your weekly wellbeing routine. The effects are cumulative so every session builds on the last, allowing the body/mind to clear stress and for resilience to build. You will be safely and expertly guided and facilitated throughout, with adaptations made for your specific needs.
What does T.R.E feel like?
Many clients describe it as “liberating” and as feeling like an internal massage. T.R.E is a profoundly empowering practice which can be safely practiced at home. Although sometimes emotions held underneath the physical tension can emerge, many clients describe it as a more physical experience that feels deeply relaxing.
Your body has a miraculous built in ability to let go of tension, stress, pain, anxiety, trauma and much more; Deborah holds safe space while you learn for yourself. Learning T.R.E is simple but also powerful, so requires care and respect so Deborah is available to clients for support and questions throughout your training course and afterwards.

Yin Fascial Yoga is a system of yoga that combines elements of Yin Yoga, Myofascial Release, Dao Yin and Mindfulness, exploring the many ways we can help release tension, tightness and emotional & physical trauma held within the physical and energetic body.
Similar to a traditional yin yoga session we'll be gently stretching and accessing the deeper aspects of the body with long held seated yin postures, as well as working with eastern movement practices, lovely undulating, spiralling and free, fluid movement, myofascial release and mindfulness, all helping to stimulate, and release tension and energetic blockages held within the meridian pathways and the fascial network system.
Yin Fascial Yoga is perfect for those who prefer a slower form of yoga and works as a complementary practice for those used to a more physically active yoga style.
Anyone wishing to cancel a place on a workshop must do so before two weeks prior to the relevant workshop, under this time refunds are at the discretion of BYS and the workshop leader/organiser.
